Future Vision of the Arch Grounds

Construction of the CityArchRiver Foundation's vision began in Summer 2014 with the “park over the highway” which was completed in Fall 2015 along with Luther Ely Smith Square. Since then, the north and south grounds broke ground and were completed in Winter 2016, and the Museum & Visitor Center under the Arch broke ground in Spring 2015 with a scheduled completion date of Spring 2018.

The renovated grounds will allow visitors to walk from the Luther Ely Square to the Arch and riverfront on one continuous greenway, without encountering a single curb or stair.

Be sure to visit the Gateway Arch again to see these exciting improvements. For updates on these renovations, please visit CityArchRiver.
