arch-1-(1).jpgWhether you’re exploring options or already knee-deep in planning a getaway to St. Louis—and have your sights set on visiting the Gateway Arch—there are a few things you should know before you go.

The Gateway Arch is OPEN!

The Arch Museum Store and Levee Mercantile, located inside the Arch lobby, are open as well and have Arch, St. Louis, and westward expansion-themed gifts for any age. The Museum of Westward Expansion recently closed for construction to make way for new museum exhibits, but there's still much to be experienced on a visit to the Arch.

Purchase your tickets prior to the day of your Gateway Arch visit.

You can do so in a few ways:

  • In person at the Gateway Arch Ticketing & Visitor Center at the Old Courthouse (11 N. Fourth Street, St. Louis)
  • Online at
  • By calling 877-982-1410.
  • In person at the Gateway Arch Riverboats' ticket office. (And you can buy riverboat cruise tickets all of these ways as well!)

There are two types of Gateway Arch tickets.

  • Journey to the Top tram ride ticket: Includes entrance to the Arch facility, tram ride to the top and a showing of the award-winning documentary Monument to the Dream. ($10/adults; $5/kids 3-15, $7/adults with America the Beautiful pass)
  • Arch Entry-Only Ticket: Includes entrance to the Arch facility and a showing of Monument to the Dream. ($3/adults; free for kids & America the Beautiful pass holders)

The Old Courthouse is now the start of your Gateway Arch experience.

The Old Courthouse is the Gateway Arch’s Ticketing & Visitor Center during construction.

Soon, temporary museum exhibits—with some items from the Museum of Westward Expansion, which recently closed for construction—will open at the Old Courthouse. So before you head to the Arch grounds, take a tour around the OCH to learn about westward expansion and the Old Courthouse’s role in famous trials, such as Dred Scott & Virginia Minor.

Hope to see you soon!
