ALERT: The Gateway Arch Ticketing & Visitor Center has relocated to the Old Courthouse at 11 N. 4th Street. The walking distance between the Old Courthouse and the Arch entrance at the SOUTH leg is approximately 0.3 miles (7 minutes of average walking time). EACH guest planning to enter the Gateway Arch will be required to have EITHER a Journey to the Top ticket or an Arch Entry-Only ticket to be allowed access to the facility.  Tram tickets will sell out early and often - advance tickets are strongly recommended.

Please Note: The Museum of Westward Expansion, located under the Gateway Arch is closed for significant renovations. Certain artifacts from the Museum are on display in exhibit galleries at the Old Courthouse.


Directions & Parking Information

Travel to the Gateway Arch easily through a variety of transportation and parking options. As part of the CityArchRiver project, the Arch grounds and Jefferson National Expansion Memorial are currently under construction with completion scheduled for Summer 2018.

Drive | Determine which exit to take from each interstate, and where to park in downtown St. Louis. Please note that there is no dedicated parking for the Gateway Arch.

Walk | Find the easiest route by foot.

Ride Public Transit | Take public transportation.

Bus Directions and Parking | Travel via school or tour bus.

  • Leonor K Sullivan Blvd access is restricted from 8pm – 6am every Friday, Saturday & Sunday evening. During these times, levee parking and access to the Gateway Arch Riverboats is only available from the NORTH via Laclede’s Landing Blvd.​ CLICK HERE FOR DETOUR DIRECTIONS
  • Memorial Drive northbound between Walnut Street and Washington Avenue is permanently closed.
  • From Interstate 44 East depressed lanes, Exit 292 use for access to downtown parking.
  • Washington Avenue between Memorial Drive and Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard is permanently closed.
