ALERT: The Gateway Arch Ticketing & Visitor Center has relocated to the Old Courthouse at 11 N. 4th Street. The walking distance between the Old Courthouse and the Arch entrance at the SOUTH leg is approximately 0.3 miles (7 minutes of average walking time). EACH guest planning to enter the Gateway Arch will be required to have EITHER a Journey to the Top ticket or an Arch Entry-Only ticket to be allowed access to the facility.  Tram tickets will sell out early and often - advance tickets are strongly recommended.

Please Note: The Museum of Westward Expansion, located under the Gateway Arch is closed for significant renovations. Certain artifacts from the Museum are on display in exhibit galleries at the Old Courthouse.


Travel to the Gateway Arch easily via public transportation including the MetroLink train system, MetroBus and the Downtown Trolley.

MetroLink Trains

Refer to this Metro Transit system map to find the MetroLink train station nearest you, and exit at the 8th and Pine station. From there, it is a short 10–15 minute walk to the Ticketing and Visitor Center at the Old Courthouse, located at 11 North 4th Street, St. Louis, MO 63102. If you already have tickets, you can exit at the Laclede's Landing station and walk through the park to the entrance at the Arch leg. Click here for the full MetroLink schedule


You may also take MetroBus from the greater St. Louis areas or Metro East (Illinois) to downtown St. Louis.

Downtown Trolley

Enjoy a convenient ride on the Downtown Trolley (“MO 99 Downtown Trolley” under MetroBus routes) while you explore St. Louis. For a small fee, you may use the trolley all day to visit many destination points, including:

  • Old Courthouse
  • Citygarden
  • Kiener Plaza
  • Washington Avenue
  • City Museum
  • Edward Jones Dome – Convention Center
  • Scottrade Center

View the entire trolley route and schedule. Purchase trolley tickets at the MetroStore located inside America’s Center at the corner of 7th and Washington Streets. Get on-off privileges all day for just $2 per adult and $1 per child or senior citizen.
