Just across a plaza from the Wainwright Building is Pritzker prize-winning architect Philip Johnson’s angular corporate headquarters. The building is simple in plan, but shifting in perception: a square plan sliced on the diagonal, one three-story section elevated around a cylindrical rotunda by thin columns. Modernism of the late 20th Century by one of its masters.
