WHAT: The Gateway Arch Riverboats cap off their 50th anniversary cruise season with themed cruises slated through the remainder of the year, including a day trip to Kimmswick, Mo.; Oktoberfest celebrations; a Halloween costume party; and a special New Year’s Eve excursion to ring in 2015. But don’t wait until the last minute to purchase ticketsthese popular cruises are expected to sell out.
- Sunday Brunch Cruise: Sunday, September 14 Make it a scenic Sunday, and enjoy a fall afternoon on the water with live Dixieland music and a delicious brunch buffet. Buffet includes French toast, eggs, prime rib, stuffed chicken breast, pasta and more deliciousness that will make your mouth water. $38/adults; $18/kids 3-12.
- Blues Cruise: Thursdays, September 18 and October 16 Slip on your dancing shoes and enjoy live blues music from the Marsha Evans’ Coalition on September 18 and Billy Peek on October 16. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy The Riverfront Times’ pick for the “Best Place to Slow Dance.” $18/person. Cash bar. Ages 21 and over.
- Lock-n-Dam Cruise: Saturdays; September 27, October 4, 11 and 18 Enroll in “Mississippi River Lock System 101,” and learn how the river’s lock and dam system allows boats to travel upstream and downstream. The captain provides commentary on this engineering phenomenon as the riverboat ventures to the mouth of the Missouri River and back. A buffet meal and live Dixieland music is included. $46/person.
- Kimmswick Cruise: Thursdays, October 2 and 16 Sail out of St. Louis for a day excursion to the quaint riverside town of Kimmswick. On the cruise, enjoy on-board bingo, card games, and river-style music. Once docked, cruisers can enjoy lunch at the famous Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery with plenty of time for exploration and shopping. $80/person.
