Read All About It!
It’s National Book Month – a time to recognize the importance of reading and celebrate the books we love!
This month, we challenge you to read outside the box. With the Gateway Arch celebrating the 54th anniversary of its completion on October 28, it is the perfect time to learn about our nation’s tallest monument.
Gateway Arch National Park partner Jefferson National Parks Association operates The Arch Store and the Old Courthouse Gift Shop, as well as an online store. These titles, available online, are a great start to get your Arch read on.
- The Making of an Icon: Author Jim Merkel captures the legend, lore and spirit behind the Arch’s conception and construction.
- Saarinen’s Quest: Experience a different aspect of the Arch! Richard Knight served as a junior architectural designer and photographer under Arch architect Eero Saarinen. Knight offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of Saarinen’s creative process between 1957 and 1961.
