Celebrate Smart: July 3rd & 4th Gateway Arch & Riverboats Travel Tips

An aerial image shows a large crowd gathered under the Gateway Arch at night with 4th of July fireworks exploding over the Mississippi River.

Oh Say Can You See… Me?! Celebrate July 4th at My Place!
By your tall, shiny friend – the Gateway Arch

America’s turning 249, and my national park right here on the riverfront is a great place to celebrate! From St. Louis Riverfront Cruises to helicopter views and plenty of patriotic fun on the grounds, I can’t wait to welcome you and all my friends for the big day.

But listen—before you put on your stars-and-stripes outfit and head downtown, let’s talk travel.

Getting Here on July 3rd & 4th: Take It From Me—Ride MetroLink!

Due to road closures and limited parking downtown for the Celebrate St. Louis festivities, I highly recommend taking MetroLink to visit me this Independence Day. Trust me, it’s the smoothest way to cruise past the traffic and get straight to the good stuff—like my museum, tram rides, riverfront cruises, and sky-high selfies. If you are driving, you can check this page for road closure information.

I’ve included a handy map below to guide you along the best walking route through the park grounds. It’s a beautiful stroll, and it’ll bring you right to my doorstep. (I love a dramatic entrance.)

Hop off at the Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Station, and you’re just a short walk away from me!

Pro Tips for a Smooth Celebration:

Let’s Make It a Celebration to Remember!

I’m absolutely glowing (even more than usual!) thinking about all of you gathering to celebrate our nation’s birthday with me. Whether you’re snapping Polaroids on the Riverboats, watching fireworks sparkle above, or just enjoying a picnic under my stainless-steel shine—I’m honored to be part of your July 4th tradition.

So ditch the stress, hop on MetroLink, and come spend the holiday with your favorite 630-foot-tall national icon.

See you soon!
