#Arch630Day: Let’s Celebrate St. Louis’ 630-Foot Wonder!

June 30th is a special day in St. Louis – it’s #Arch630Day! A day dedicated to celebrating our iconic Gateway Arch and its impressive dimensions: 630 feet tall and 630 feet wide. It’s more than just a monument; it’s a symbol of our city’s spirit, and we want everyone to join in the fun!
For the past few years, St. Louis has embraced the Arch 630 Day Stacking Challenge, and it’s always a blast! Businesses and organizations across the metro area get creative, measuring something unique to their operations and calculating how many of those items it would take to reach the Arch’s towering 630 feet. Imagine: How many baseballs would it take? How many scoops of ice cream? How many… well, you get the idea! Last year, we saw that it would take a staggering 3,784 toasted raviolis to equal 630 feet – what will you come up with this year?
We’re calling on all St. Louis businesses, organizations, and individuals to take on the Stacking Challenge again! It’s a fantastic way to showcase your unique identity while celebrating a shared St. Louis icon. Share your calculations and a photo of your item using #Arch630Day on social media! But this year, we’re taking the celebration to new heights (pun intended!). We’re encouraging even more exciting and engaging ways to participate in #Arch630Day. Here are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
- $6.30 Specials: Businesses, this is for you! Offer special deals for $6.30 – whether it’s a menu item, a drink special, or a discounted entry to your attraction. It’s a win-win: customers get a great deal, and you get to be part of the Arch 630 Day buzz!
- Arch History Trivia Nights: Calling all trivia hosts! Lead up to #Arch630Day or dedicate a round on June 30th to fascinating facts about the Gateway Arch. Test St. Louisans’ knowledge of our beloved landmark! Need some Arch-tastic brain teasers? Reach out to us – we’ve got facts taller than the Arch itself (almost)!
- Live Broadcast from the Arch Grounds: Are you a local media outlet? Imagine doing your weather or traffic hits live from the Arch grounds at 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM on #Arch630Day! We’d also love to see interviews with local experts on the grounds, tying into the Arch’s incredible 60th anniversary.
- “6 Minutes, 30 Seconds” Featurette: Podcasters and radio shows, this is your chance to shine! Create special episodes that are exactly 6 minutes and 30 seconds long, delving into the Arch’s history, its innovative design, or sharing fun, little-known facts.

- Arch Selfie Challenge: Head down to the Arch grounds on June 30th and take a creative selfie with the Arch in the background! Try to capture its full 630 feet of height or find a unique angle showcasing its impressive width. Share your photos with #Arch630Day and tag the Gateway Arch, @gatewayarchstl (if applicable!).
- 630 Steps: Get moving! Organize a walk, run, or step challenge where participants aim to take 630 steps (or 630 laps around a specific area) in honor of the Arch’s dimensions. It’s a fun way to get active and celebrate our landmark’s grand scale.
