Gateway Arch Unveils Plans for 60th Anniversary Celebration

Three days of activities are planned to commemorate this monumental moment.
ST. LOUIS, MO (Oct. 21, 2025) — As the Gateway Arch nears the 60th anniversary of its completion on Oct. 28, plans have been announced to celebrate the iconic monument’s diamond anniversary.
All festivities are open to the public and will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, Sunday, Oct. 26, and Tuesday, Oct. 28, the date of the Arch’s completion. To commemorate this iconic milestone, enjoy free, family-friendly activities, including: meeting the Builders, live music and performances, signing a giant birthday card, kids’ crafts, a colorful standee for photo opportunities, and a fireworks display.
Saturday, Oct. 25 | Builder’s Day
This special day honors the people who built the Gateway Arch. Meet some of the original builders, hear their stories and receive autographs on a commemorative poster. Additionally, Just Breathe STL will offer a revitalizing yoga session for all ages, led by The Collective. The day concludes on the St. Louis riverfront with a spectacular fireworks show at 7 p.m., presented by Visit Missouri and Gateway Arch Park Foundation.
Sunday, Oct. 26 | Family Day
Enjoy a high-flying performance from Circus Harmony’s St. Louis Arches at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 28 | The Anniversary of the Completion of the Gateway Arch
Celebrate the official 60th anniversary with Arch-themed crafts, activities and performances by the Columbia High School band. Talented local artist Jillian Kaye will also create live sketches of visitors.
On Oct. 28, you can also become an exclusive member of the Tram Ride to the Top Club. Visitors who venture to the Top will receive a commemorative button and certificate. Please note that a ticket purchase is required for the Tram Ride, and it is highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance, as they are expected to sell out. ARCH VISITOR REMINDERS
Programs are subject to change due to weather and staffing.
Visitors should arrive at the Arch at least 30 minutes before their scheduled tram time and enter the monument at the Arch entrance plaza, which faces Fourth Street and the Old Courthouse. The Arch legs are exits only. Entry to the Arch Visitor Center and the Museum at the Gateway Arch is always free. All visitors must pass through an airport-style security checkpoint to get to the lower levels of the Arch facility.
The Tram Ride to the Top of the Arch sells out early and often. Visitors are strongly encouraged to purchase tram ride tickets in advance at gatewayarch.com/buytickets. For more information, visit nps.gov/jeff or gatewayarch.com, or call 877-982-1410.
Arch parking is available for a fee at the Stadium East Garage, located at 200 S. Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102. Visit iparkit.com/TheArch to prepurchase parking with no validation required. If parking is not prepurchased, validation is required by scanning/stamping a parking ticket at one of two validators located inside the Arch Visitor Center. Discounted parking is not available on St. Louis Cardinals’ home game days without prepurchasing by 11:59 p.m. on the date before the game. With each parking purchase at the Stadium East Garage, $1 will support ongoing conservation and preservation efforts, educational opportunities and community programs at Gateway Arch National Park through Gateway Arch Park Foundation.
