Guidelines for your Tram Ride to the Top
Welcome to Gateway Arch National Park. There is much to see and do at the park and we are glad you are here. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all visitors on the Gateway Arch tram system, please review and follow this Code of Conduct.
Respectful & Safe Behavior
- Speak quietly during the tram experience, including while inside the tram cars.
- While inside the tram cars do not tamper with the doors.
- Be courteous and patient with fellow visitors and staff.
- Follow instructions provided by staff and tour guides.
- Running, climbing, profanity, hate speech, or playing loud music is prohibited.
- Please do not interrupt tour guides during the tram experience. Questions will be entertained after their presentation to the tour group.
Food and Personal Belongings
- Food and beverages are not permitted during the tram experience. Sealed water bottles are allowed.
- Keep all personal belongings, including coats and bags, with you at all times.
- Strollers, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be taken to the top of the Arch. A tour guide will direct you on where to place these items prior to boarding. You must be able to independently manage 96 steps (6 separate flights) to access the tram.

- Individuals who do not adhere to these guidelines may be asked to leave the ticketed experience, be reassigned to another tram group, and/or be denied service.
